UPDATE: At the Full Council meeting of 07 June 2023 it was resolved that the Planning & Licensing Committee be given delegated authority to respond to the following Public Question:
- "Q2. Given that, as the Highways Authority for Cornwall, Cornwall Council have the legal statutory duty to protect and maintain public rights of way, but have failed to do so in this case, will Newquay Town Council challenge Cornwall Council over the 2 public rights of way crossing the land of the former Paradise Cove Hotel that have been illegally obstructed since before 2000, and the time taken to determine the Definitive Map Modification Order application for the South West Coast Path at Whipsiderry? There is currently no connection between the South West Coast Path and Trevelgue Head, there is a significant detour that means most people will miss such an important feature of Newquay."
